Today, December 8, 2020, the awarding ceremony of the the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan for Lifelong Learning Support Activities for Persons with Disabilities was held.
The Award given by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan is awarded to individuals or organizations that support various learning activities for people with disabilities throughout their lives, and whose activities are recognized as exemplary. 73 individuals and organizations were awarded this year.
As one of them, the Special Needs Education Department of Ehime University's Faculty of Education received the Minister's Award from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for its efforts in the "TREASuRE Project".
The name of this project is an acronym for Treatment, Rearing, Education, Accommodation, Support, Research, and Ehime.
It stands for the philosophy that lifelong learning turns people with disabilities into local treasures! It represents our philosophy that lifelong learning turns people with disabilities into local treasures!

This year, the awarding ceremony was held online to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, and Dr. Tomonori Karita attended the ceremony online on behalf of the Special Education Department.
